The chapter opens with this incredibly tender moment—Lu Zheng making breakfast, Wen Qingli smiling with those dimples, and him thinking "Damn. How could she look so sweet when she smiled?" And then—cut to teachers gossiping about a murder. Cut to Wen Qingli learning about Ribavirin and having a full-on panic attack. Cut to Lu Zheng interrogating a woman who orchestrated a murder through psychological manipulation. Cut to a mall confrontation that's equal parts tense and darkly comedic. The pacing here is relentless. The author doesn't give you a single breath between the sweet domestic opening and the crushing weight of the investigation. It's almost jarring, and I think that's intentional. One minute you're warm and cozy, the next you're learning that a woman faked her entire pregnancy and miscarriage to destroy her husband and his mistress. The whiplash IS the point. What I love about the structure is how the author uses scene transitions to create contrast. The hospital scene—clinical, bright, revealing—is followed by the interrogation room—dark, enclosed, confessional. The airport scene where Su Ying gets arrested has this almost cinematic quality: ten minutes before boarding, police officers stepping forward, her face draining of color. It's brief but devastating. And then, after all that emotional weight, we get the mall scene. It's lighter, sharper, almost comedic—but it doesn't undercut the seriousness. Instead, it gives us a different kind of tension. Wen Qingli vs. Su Yue and Bai Chuxue. Who will win? Who will fold? The stakes are social and personal rather than life-and-death, but the author treats them with the same intensity. The chapter ends mid-confrontation, which is a classic cliffhanger move, but it works because we've already invested in Wen Qingli's growth. We want to see her win. And honestly? After everything Su Ying went through, I think we all need someone to win for once.
Okay so Cen Yuxing is genuinely one of the best older brothers in fiction and I need everyone to know this. The moment he swaps desks with his sister after finding hers turned into a barbecue grill? That is such a quiet, understated act of protection. He doesn't make a scene. He doesn't yell. He just... moves. And then when the glue incident happens and his pants get ruined, he still doesn't complain. He just sits there in silence while his little sister loses her absolute mind. But the real moment for me was in the principal's office when Cen Yuxing says "I'm her guardian. Whatever you want to say, you can say it to me." The principal laughs at him like it's ridiculous that a kid would claim to be a guardian, and Cen Yuxing just stands there with this deadpan expression like... yeah, I'm an older brother, that makes me a guardian, what's the problem? It's so him. He doesn't waste energy on drama. He just states facts and lets the world deal with it. And then he deliberately gives the principal Big Sister's number. The audacity. The absolute gall. Cen Wu's face when she realizes what he's doing — I literally laughed out loud. She's sitting there thinking her brother is about to get them both in huge trouble and he's just standing there with this expression that basically says "if the sky falls, the tallest person holds it up, and in our family, Big Sister is the tallest." Lu You on the other hand is just... wow. She's the kind of antagonist who makes you question what planet she's from. Running out to find a teacher the second things get violent, screaming that Cen Wu is killing someone when she clearly didn't break any bones — she's not even trying to be subtle about her cowardice. And yet the principal and that parent are both treating her like a victim? The fact that she has this "mind-numbing charm" that apparently everyone is blind to is both hilarious and infuriating.

i absolutely love the development so far, the interaction between MC and the other characters is both funny and serious when needed to be, the world building is well done so far, ans the magic system seems to be very open ended which I love, good work so far
You have been starting one project after another.
I think the overall story is good, the only problem I have with the story is that its hard to get attached to the female leads, they are all the same just lust driven lemon maniacs that get enticed by the first big banana they see.
I've been writing novels for over five years, and now I bring you my take on the Cultivation/ Murim/ Xianxia genre. The story unfolds across two realms—a modern, apocalyptic Earth and a mystical Murim world. Well, I, maybe not be good at writing reviews, but here goes!! It was good. Read If you like reading. I recommend.Phew... That was hard.thank you, Author-san for making such a great story. BTW, beware readers, there are really, really shocking plot twists here and there... I really liked them, they made me go...
This is an early review after 20 chapters. I confess that this is a unique take on these quick rich system novels. With this one, the system doesn’t give cash payouts to the MC but does instead helps him with education, advice and recommendations plus some system gifts.I will watch this one with interest and already added to my library. ?
