Good novel What more do I need?
From even 20 chapter I can see this is gem with proper details not so op cheat good world background(Not so highly introduced but at least from proper sect introduction author won't probably mess it up) character looks real with real motivation?(Don't know but at least they look good to me) end of the day at least it is good read better than generic trash out there.
The main point of a sect is a theosophy not in conflict with the established state. If we have a population producing with religious leadership, we have states like ancient Egypt where the leader is administrative and religious. In the case of China the Sects are Feudal. In the Feudal regime there is wealth in production coming from the Earth to an authority. A Sect can drain workers from other fiefs which is bad for nearby fiefs but excellent for a monarch who wants a centralized yet religiosity dependent. The sect must be religious but without the desire or ambition for enlargement subservient to the monarch.
I'll casually drop by to tell you guys that this is going to be a longer work. Sure I know how I want to end it but I didn't set the journey there into stone yet. I can vouch for the writing quality, or I'll at least do my level best to keep it interesting. Okay so I really like Gourmet of Another world type stories and from the summary I thought that the mc would be feeding literal ghosts on the side, ya know, like a supernatural horror cooking thing in modern times. Spoiler. It’s not. Very sad. Anyway the story is pretty much placed in a Food Wars parody. Which is sort of cringe in my opinion. They use the same characters and stuff like the school and gourmet associations etc. The MC (a bit like Soma from Foodwars) has a small family restaurant run by his gramps- except the old man literally didn’t teach him how to cook until like a day after he got his cooking system. The cooking system is pretty straightforward- be the best- and it seems a lot more versatile and useful than some other systems but not too OP. Unlike Food Wars MC doesn’t want to go to the fancy cook school and just wants to run the restaurant. I quite like MC’s personality which is far more active than Bu Fang’s from Gourmet of Another World. He seems more positive and it’s clear that he’s quite hardworking. I’ve read more than I thought I would because I don’t mind seeing his journey as a chef but... the Food Wars references which I thought was a fun easter egg at first became a full blown thing and I don’t know, it’s like meh to me. I’ll keep it around 4* since the pacing isn’t bad, the mc is like able enough, the cooking description is very good and if you can get over the food war thing overall it’s a good read to pass the time....I still want a supernatural cooking story in the modern world tho QAQ
Ahh, another China author who use other people stuff to make their own hit novel that people love due to the original source. And when they got lawsuit, the China will always help by saying its inspired from other source, not copy paste... I would love to read another war of the lawsuit between Chinese author with China as backer and the opponent is some private company who would be infiltrate, swallowed, merged by China tycoon...
This is a great and interesting story. The main character is cool and intelligent. He makes his decisions based on whether or not it is beneficial not useless garbage like morals. If you like the book “The Legendary Mechanic” you will probably like this. Although the MC isn’t quite as hard working as Black Star, it is refreshing to see an MC that also manages to enjoy the benefits of the situation they were given. - DaoistHeavenlyEgg

I read a bit ahead, & the story seems to go on a tangent whenever it feels like it. Cool concept, wierd execution & read. 2/10
I find the concept of the novel quite innovative with the mc having an op system, but only regarding his current cultivation level and said system will grow with the mc.The problem with this novel is that is simply boring with almost zero interesting events surrounding the mc and stupidity of the mc, which can be seen especially in the auction arc.
