Honestly wasn't that bad until chapter 40, but starting from chapter 41and onwards, the translation quality deteriorated. The already confusing ranking system became more messed up and the names of the summons and their skills changed. Basic stuff like capitalization of letters also became lackadaisical.

Loving the story so far. MC has a goal which is clear and reasonable to an extent. He is working for his goal and it provides a good motivation for him. I also really like that the world building is not completely set in some system. It has not been long since the change of the MC's world so new things can be expected to happen which I always like more than world's that have some set rules in stone.
This novel is extremely over-rated, almost at the point where I'm suspicious that the review score has been messed with. I refuse to believe that this mediocre, non-descript, generic, word-count-centric novel has so many good reviews. Let's start with the biggest flaw. The author is honestly not as clever as he thinks he is. And because of that, a million issues crop up: huge plot holes because of glaring omission. The MC is presented as someone who lived for a long time in a somewhat enlightened kingdom, but he behaves like a teenager on drugs. Intrigue, betrayal, and politic arcs feel like children's colouring books, with cartoon villains and a painfully oblivious MC. The more you read, the more flabbergasted you become. As is the norm with these types of novels, there is a lot of face slapping. And this is one of the points that the translators emphasized. We will have real villains, with real motivations. That was a lie. It's all about immediate gratification. Random thug like characters whose sole purpose is to be humiliated by the MC. And they keep coming and coming. All MC actions are done with a large audience, where everyone is present to witness his greatness. Nobody has anything else to do other than talk about the MC, be amazed by how heaven defying he is, then immediately proceed to forget about it, and randomly pick a fight with him. It's typical for Easter fantasy novels, but for the score and praise of this novel, this is very disappointing.Another big issue is the writing style of the author. The main characteristic, and the purpose of every chapter is word count. Endless repetition, multiple paragraphs stating the same thing over and over, with no addition to the story. Random dialogue and exchanges between minor characters, of no real value. One single fight, in a very early arc, took over 15 chapters, for a single punch exchange. You could honestly reduce it to a paragraph.The novel doesn't have a single original bone in its body. The title contains doctor, and the MC is lauded as a heaven defying alchemists. But when it comes to fighting, as usual, it's all about who can punch harder. No poison, no alchemy fire shenanigans, no special cauldron. Just uga buga me strong me hit. There's not a lot to like about this novel. I have committed to reading up to chapter 100, to give the novel a fair shot, but in all honesty, this feels like a chore, not like something enjoyable. I would stay away from this. There is better stuff out there

The story... What should I say... After the first chapter I was already tempted to drop it but I persisted through all 40 free chapters.My short review would be: the first 15 or so chapters (except for the first ~2) had the ability to make me laugh because of some nice side characters that got me some comical relief. Sadly when the mc moves towards his next target he leaves them behind (like I said: side characters). ⭐????The story is about an OP military male that comes out of prison after a mission and sees his family in peril. Now he's out for revenge. It's the cliche face slapping. He goes around seeking revenge on family after family. Those "esteemed" families feel offended by his actions and his brute force, things escalate and the family gets eradicated. Many things also involve his adopted sister but surprise surprise they are actually in love.You should not that the genre of this novel is magical realism. In general everything seems "normal" but the MC and his strongest subordinates (of course generals from the military) have some cultivation kind of martial arts skills. (MC can crush people with his aura if he for once doesn't decide to beat them up himself.)Character design and development... There isn't any of it really. Mc seems shallow and nowhere like a military person should seem. He has anger and control issues and seems very superficial. There isn't much information about the world background, just that the MC is the almighty and every military person looks up to him etc. There are also loopholes in general that aren't really explained (yet). Like he was framed by his business partner that landed him in prison for 5 years and then a strong guy picked him up and like this he somehow got into the military where he now has unimaginable high achievements etc but at the same time it was said he went to military for a top secret reason and nobody knew about this or that he was in the military before jail time.If you're searching for a short break from your current novels but don't want to start a complete new one that you have to finish eventually because it's too good, the first few chapters of this novel might be just right (if you like cliche face slapping and can bare with not so deep characters). You definitely won't get attached. If you want something worth your coins... Better not.I think it's kinda sad because the general plot could be a pretty good face slapping novel if done perfectly. Sadly the author lacks the ability.
Very good book suitable for those who both like comedy and action genres. Mainly because the MC is a troll and does crazy and funny things that make people laugh.
I quite like it, its not for everybody but if you are looking for a funny low stakes slice of life novel with op mc thats is not obnoxious or fucking evil in a modern setting and without dog blood drama or revolving door of petty never ever back down cannon fodder face slapping, this its for you!For me Ling Ran at the same time its both a typical and atypical protagonist, at the core he is a young man set on his ways that knows what he wants from his life. From his birth he has what we some readers call his biggest golden finger, not the medical system but what we might as well call conceptual beauty, all people regardless of personal taste think him the most handsome, old, young, man, female, EVERYBODY and they react according to their own natural reaction to it(there is not magical love obsession or enslavement, at least not for everybody, some people are just that shallow), he has been always been the center of attention and receive preferential treatment or resentment no matter what he does or felt, his mother has been a godsend in teaching how to cope with it. The most memorable for me its how when he was a child she gave him a box and a sign of "please give me 10 yen" and parked him in a busy street(he was not made to look like a poor beggar or sick), the box overflowed in like a hour with more money that his family clinic makes in a day/week? and she give him the talk that with his looks he does not have to work to eat and live well, he could just gather money while his youth lasts and live out of it, so he should just look for what he enjoys to do and work on that, just his looks will open doors for him. Surgery its that for him, he loves and lives for it, he cares not for fame, money or status, only as much as they enable his life passion of doing surgery. Even without the system he would have been a successful surgeon, he is book smart, not untalented, hard working and his looks will have gave him opportunities, like when on the first day the nurse choose him of all interns to do stitching, his rise would not have been meteoric or anywhere near as high, but he will have done well. His personality and actions are derived of his coping mechanism for all the attention, he is germophobe that does not like to be touched(you can imagine how much he was touched without his permission since he was child), he has zero interest in romantic relationships or sex(he has been harassed and courted since kindergarden), he does not flatter people and has minimal manners when meeting new people(he knows people always excuse him or dislike him for his looks and that almost always comes first), he is aloof(people are always trying to cozy up to him and take the slightest opening) and in general he just does not get some social niceties/behaviors since he never had to, so he never bothered to learn or maybe he just couldt? it may be accidental representation, but he in general cames across like he is somewhere in the autistic spectrum, I like it. The constant thing of a gaggle of young nurses, random beautiful girls being introduced to gaga over him got old fast, but it has toned down over the course of the book, its more a background thing now. Really like two named young females in the entire book have been immune to it, the author does not know how to write females well, but at least he is not perverted or woman hating about it.Like I said he is set on his ways, he likes his routines and does not like unfamiliar places and you know he actually has alive parents he likes, so he has stayed on the same hospital over the course of so far 1000+ chapters, which I actually think its great, I am so done with the trope of mc constantly outgrowing places or burning all bridges and having to move to other place where he just win overs/face slaps the exact same type of characters over and over. He staying in the same hospital actually enables the story to have a stable cast of characters, they are not very deep but I do like them and actually remember them! They have their own unique personalities and will be sad to see them go. There are plenty of chapters where they are center stage and Ling Ran its in the background or not at all on it, its nice and often funny variety.Also he is not sabotaging himself by doing it, there are sick people everywhere, the hospital has good facilities, he can and does freelance surgery when he runs out of beds and as told in the novel, had he left for those others hospitals when given the chance he would not have gotten as much preferential treatment(he is so spoiled on his hospital) immediately as he receives on his own hospital he will had to spend time proving himself to get the same leeway, surgery volume and freedom for task he does not like doing(medical charts, social niceties, talking with patients, warding off new romantic interests since every time he moves to a new place he has to reject in a socially acceptable way offers of dates from young women, matchmaking with daughters/nieces/granddaughters for all the older people) when he could just spend that time doing surgery or at home and saving himself the distasteful task of uprooting himself out of his routines/home.
This is an incredibly fresh story and way better than what I expected coming in.You need to add more in the description about the amazing mysteries which are in this story. I expected a somewhat boring slice-of-life story but what I got was an intriguing mystery about meritocratic high schools and secret human experiments.Amazing, I need more!
I am revising my review thanks to popcornlol who confirmed this was completed (not hiatus, as I had thought before after finishing it). This one is a very short novel with only 101 chapters, and at the end of book, it leaves you wanting the author to tie up the loose ends. Our MC had just won the national soccer championships when he has to transfer schools. One of his old friends also decide to transfer. Anyways, the team on the new school is relatively bad, and the first part of the book is focused on shaping it up through matches to make it competitive. There's the usual trope of the pretty team manager, and the unexpected wins against public expectations. I was hoping for something like the old anime/manga "Hungry Heart" with regard to how an underdog shocks the nation, but it definitely isn't as good.
A true gem but you need to give it time. This is one that you need to experience for yourself. Comparable to Lord of Mysteries where the main character is not a dunce. I am crossing my fingers that it gets picked up!
