Okay so I need to talk about how this author handles pacing because honestly it's kind of a masterclass in not rushing things. The whole chapter sequence from 14 to 15 moves at this unhurried, almost meditative rhythm that could easily drag if the writer wasn't so skilled. You've got the horse ride scene — fifteen minutes of silence on Dorje, just hoofbeats and two restless hearts — and instead of filling every second with dialogue, the author lets the atmosphere do the work. That's a bold choice. A lot of writers would panic and throw in three pages of small talk, but nope. Just the wind, the grasslands, and Lin Mo's internal panic about Danzeng. Then the structure pivots beautifully. The visit to Mola's tent introduces the 2008 earthquake backstory in one devastating paragraph — "They never came back" — and suddenly this gentle romance has weight, history, real stakes. It's not just "will they/won't they" anymore, it's about people who've survived loss and still choose warmth. That structural choice elevates everything. And then Chapter 15 opens with the school, the children, the art class proposal, and boom — Lin Mo's social media account goes viral with ten thousand followers. The author compresses what could be a whole chapter into a few paragraphs and it works because we've earned the payoff. The pacing here is like a well-timed exhale. You're not left wanting more action; you're left feeling like you just witnessed something complete. The only thing I'd slightly critique is the transition between the pasture scene and the viral moment — it happens so fast that I almost wanted a beat of Lin Mo processing her new direction before the phone notification explodes. But then again, maybe that's the point. Life-changing moments don't always come with a pause button. So yeah, the pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, sometimes surprisingly quick, but never arbitrary. Every scene earns its place. That's rare.
