Okay so let me just say this about Shen Yuan and Xie Chengze's dynamic because I am STILL recovering. In the original story, Shen Yuan would deliberately provoke Xie Chengze by praising his beauty in flowery language, and Xie Chengze would fly into a rage every single time. That was their whole thing. But now? Shen Yuan draws his Azure Sword — the very sword that killed Xie Chengze in his past life — and Xie Chengze just... gives him a thumbs up and says "A fine sword—just like you." A THUMBS UP. I nearly fell out of my chair. This is not the Xie Chengze I remember. He's either a master manipulator or his brain got scrambled from being stabbed. Shen Yuan clearly thinks it's the former, and honestly? Same. The way Shen Yuan kept testing him, looking for cracks in the mask, you could feel his paranoia growing. He kept thinking Xie Chengze was reborn earlier, that he was biding his time. But here's the thing that got me — when Xie Chengze deliberately acted shameless about his love for romance novels and patted Shen Yuan's shoulder, Shen Yuan's body went completely stiff. The roles are so beautifully reversed. The hunter has become the hunted, and neither of them knows the full rules of the game anymore.
The dialogue in this novel is so good because it's mostly NOT dialogue. Like, the entire scene where Yan Huaijin confronts Pei Yunting at Xiaoxiang House? Half of it is them communicating through looks. "A single glance. A single gesture. She understood everything." That's the kind of writing that makes you fall in love with a romance. These two have been doing mischief together since childhood and they've developed this shorthand that doesn't require words. But when they DO speak, it's perfect. Yan Huaijin: "Pei Wanwan, your ability to infuriate people improves by the day." And her response? Just a smile. "Well? The tea's good, isn't it?" She's sitting there, potentially about to get caught in a brothel, and she's offering HIM tea like nothing happened. The audacity. I love her. And the guards' conversation downstairs—"Brother, you got here fast today. You're at least a quarter of an hour earlier than last time." "Our lives are more important." That's comedy gold. The author lets the side characters provide relief without breaking tension, and that's a skill. The narrative voice itself is this perfect blend of elegant and accessible. It doesn't talk down to you but it also doesn't get lost in purple prose. Every sentence earns its place.
Novel boa, acho que o maior destaque está na tensão da trama e na forma como Evan tenta jogar dentro das regras da história que ele mesmo criou, a novel ta dando a entender desde o inicio que vai rolar algo pesado no futuro, e como é algo que eu gosto, não da pra ignorar.
At first, I was kinda sad that it was being rewritten, however, it’s genuinely better than the original while staying true to its OG plot line. Ofcourse there some changes, but 10/10. ???
Ok honest review, at first i thought the story was going to be only shiits and giggles, i did not realize theirs an actual plot that will literally get me hooked, I also realized that the author writing improve as the chapters go by so the development got better and better.The start is great, but it will get much better after getting his cute pet and also reaching the kingdom arc where we finally sees some power levels and his strength.What to expect:Comedy.Short romance (the author need to improve in this)Mc suffering from success.TEA SIPPING.GRANNY?.Cute pets (2 of them).
