The dialogue in this section is absolutely phenomenal and I need to talk about how each character has such a distinct voice. Zheng Zezhi's lines are just... perfect. "Marrying a man is like being reborn—you could've sat beside me, yet you choose the lowest seat." This woman is so subtly cruel, wrapping her venom in what sounds almost like concern. And then she just loses all pretense: "How many minutes do you last? Have you ever made your wife climax?" I cannot believe she said that at a family dinner. The transition from fake-polite grandmother to completely unhinged is so jarring and it perfectly shows who she really is. Shen Shuli's voice is my absolute favorite. "Is the food not to your liking? Or is it just not enough to shut your mouth?" That line is so clean, so sharp, so perfectly delivered. And then her declaration: "If you dare bully my man in front of me, you'd better think twice about whether your status even qualifies you to!" This is the kind of dialogue that makes you want to frame it on your wall. She doesn't just speak, she DESTROYS. Fu Yanci's dialogue is softer but no less impactful. "You appeared—like a beam of light, illuminating my entire world." It's romantic but it doesn't feel overdone because the author grounds it in their shared history. And the contrast between his public silence during the dinner (where he endures the humiliation) and his private vulnerability with Shen Shuli? That's excellent character voice work. He's different with her—softer, more open, more honest. The dialogue reflects that shift perfectly. Even minor characters like Fu Xijue have distinct voices. His line "What's past is past. There's no need to bring it up again" is so measured, so controlled. It tells us everything about his character in six words.
I think this book format suits well in RR or other websites because WN prefers to be shorter in word counts so I was pretty surprised how long it was, some may be a slug to go through and the description can be overexplained sometimes but overall the story is there, while nothing original and all but it had a unique flair to it.Decent start

The characters are intriguing, the plot has a lot of potential, and the author’s creativity in crafting the world is evident. However, I can’t help but feel that the story progression is starting to drag, particularly when it comes to the world-building and introduction of the setting.While I appreciate the effort to create a rich and detailed world, the pacing has slowed down significantly.
