Love this story ❤️ but the update is soooooooo slow. I'm sure I'll forget more than half the characters along the way ?The story is about Now Li who died against the 'last boss' and given a second chance by going back through time. (Luv the character design in manhua)What I love about the MC is that he experienced so many things in his first life and got stronger but he also sharpened his knowledge about the world. He got cheats on martial arts and cultivation cuz of first life but wat I love the most is that he is very knowledgeable about various things and when it shines I just love it!I also love his attitude- caring but aggressive when needed. Most of the time funny ? and the first MC who I didn't give an eye roll ? when I saw hints of harem. The most MC with harem usually slightly annoy me but this one I'm totally ok (or maybe I just hav to read more ?)
I need to talk about the dialogue in this book because honestly it's one of the strongest elements. Qi Youyu's voice is so distinct and consistent that I never once forgot who was speaking, even in fast-paced exchanges. The kid's lines are absolutely gold. "My head is a little big." "That's because it's packed with smarts." Then she immediately follows it up by pinching his hand and saying she'll share some of her smarts with him. This is a three-and-a-half-year-old deploying what she clearly thinks is a clever negotiation tactic. The fact that Yan Xingli just accepts it and moves on is hilarious. And then there's the flat vs. thick exchange, which is probably my favorite line in these chapters. Yan Xingli pinches her cheeks and says "Do you think you're the Empress Dowager?" and she looks up and deadpans: "Uncle, I'm not thick, I'm flat." Then offers him a hug to prove it. I cannot stop thinking about this. This child has more comedic timing than most adult characters in fiction. Yan Xingli's voice is also really well-drawn. He's clearly exhausted, clearly doesn't know what he's doing, but he's trying. His internal monologue is where the humor lives—"The universality of childhood really knows no planetary boundaries; even alien kids love to spout nonsense. She'd rather trust Qin Shi Huang than her." That's such a specific, funny way to process the situation. And his external dialogue is more restrained, which creates this nice contrast. He's the straight man to her chaos. Xiao Lin is basically the comic relief wingman, and his dialogue is perfectly calibrated. "Bro Xing, did you stay up late last night? Want me to help you put on a face mask?" He's clearly used to Yan Xingli's nonsense and just rolls with it. The dynamic between these three feels incredibly natural. The conversation with the two girls at the arcade is also really well done. Qi Youyu's response to "So what's your zodiac sign?" being "I'm a Triangle Rice Ball" is the kind of thing that only works because the character has been established as someone who takes things literally and is genuinely enthusiastic about food. It's not just a joke; it's character-driven humor. What's interesting is how the dialogue reveals the power dynamics. Qi Youyu is technically the guest, the one who needs help, but she's always in control of conversations. Yan Xingli is the adult but he's constantly being outmaneuvered. The dialogue makes this clear without anyone having to state it outright. The author's narrative voice is also worth mentioning—it's witty without being pretentious, observant without being clinical. Lines like "Those unscrupulous capitalists were toying with me, driving this good-natured kid absolutely crazy" when describing the claw machine arcade show an author who has a point of view and isn't afraid to let it shine through.
I am truly impressed by the author, honestly speaking if there ever was someone who would trade in a pile of gold solid gold for a worthless pile of rubbish it's this author right here. The starting and world foundation was excellent not too tiring to read exciting even the first chapter was dark and promising then Lord knows what happened but he or she decided to try and copy the brilliant comedy of a well known and loved mercenary and failed horribly. The world was amazing to imagine the mc with so much promise wasted. You can read it if you like but it'll most likely frustrate you in a bad kind of way. Author should have stuck to what you had it was magic
The translators have done a great job for this story. The protagonist collects monsters to fight, but the story doesn't purely focus on that. He nurtures the the creatures, called "sprites," into powerful companions. What I thoroughly enjoy is that the story emphasizes the companion aspect more with the sprites's personalities being shown and developed. Obviously they are extra powerful, as the MC has a cheat system, but they aren't the "super rare once in a lifetime starter creatures that can even beat higher tiered beasts from birth" sort of deal. They need to be built up from the beginning like everyone else. I also enjoy the new world that the MC finds himself in. It's a modern world, but with the introduction of sprites that populate it. It gives ot a realistic feel tgat most power controlled worlds in stories don't have. It makes it interesting to read instead of a rewash of other stories. I really hope that it gets picked.
The story has a lot of potential, but it is wasted in a easily evitable way.The most common problems are:- LOL.- The author explain as something work just to forget it and making it work in a different way.- Irrealistic or dumb plot device (alert minor spoiler, jump to the next point if you don’t want know: an explosion that erase 75 square km of the city where the mc is, but he says he doesn't know anything because he didn't watch the news and he was at a friend house, friend that previously he said was in the same city. To not add that even though the explosion happened in a residential district there were just 67 deaths).- Expression used in the wrong way.Although I may sound harsh (both here and in the comments) I don't want to offend the author, but just point out thing that in a much needed rewrite should be corrected.As said before the novel has a lot of potential and it sadden and annoy me to see it wasted.I hope to not have offended or upset the author with this review or my other comments.
First of all, let me tell you that how the character views he's surroundings is perfect. His descriptions are deep but the words itself is simple, making it easier for the situation to sink in you. Second, The dialogues are simple and jumps right into it so for people who wants a perfectly paced story, this is the story!

It's an interesting story. I hope to see it continue as I ran out of chapters to read just as it began to pick up. I rated it the way I did because I need more content to go on.
