There's this one detail that keeps haunting me. Mao Xiaoshu follows the sweet scent through the woods thinking it's wild fruit, and it turns out to be Qin Ziheng. 'This beast really smelled sweet!' The scent becomes this bridge between them—Mao Xiaoshu's instinct leading him not to food but to a person, to connection. In a world where beasts hunt for survival, he's drawn by something softer. And then the empty cave. Mao Xiaoshu has nothing—no stone bowl, no furniture, just a pile of fruit in the corner. The Tiger and Leopard clans took everything. But he still offers to carry a stranger home, still tries to pay Grandpa Rabbit with nothing he has, still coaxes medicine down someone's throat with promises of fruit he can't even give. His emptiness makes his generosity infinitely more powerful. The fever itself is symbolic too. Qin Ziheng arrives stripped of everything—his glasses, his direction, his strength, his certainty. He's reduced to pure vulnerability, and it's in that state that he meets someone who sees him not as a threat or a beast from another tribe but as someone who needs help. The hot-hot sickness strips him down to human, and Mao Xiaoshu responds to that humanity. I keep thinking about Grandpa Rabbit's line: 'Whether he wakes up depends on his fortune.' But I don't think it's about fortune anymore. I think it's about choice. Mao Xiaoshu chose to carry him. That's not luck. That's who he is.
The Stone Forest scene is genuinely stunning. I keep coming back to the guide's description — 'the strange rocks stand like countless galloping horses and towering peaks' — and I can literally SEE this. The author doesn't just say 'it was pretty' and move on, they actually build the space around you. And then there's the Ashima legend woven in right when Ruan Zhizhi is standing there, and of COURSE it's a tragic love story because this novel is clearly setting up parallel narratives. The contrast between the warm, damp, unpredictable Yunnan weather and Shi Yan's coldness is not subtle but it works — 'Yunnan's weather was damp and unpredictable, with constant drizzle and large temperature differences between morning and night' mirrors how Ruan Zhizhi's emotional state is shifting. Then you have the airport scene, the tour bus, the hotel corridor — each space feels different, lived-in. The private restaurant room with its creaking wooden stairs and the seafood spread is so vividly described you can almost smell it. And that ending image — Shi Yan against the stone lion, smoke curling around him, the steaming oden box on the bluestone — is cinematic. Like, actual film frame. I don't say that lightly.
Hehe, harem and romance, I love it Especially spice scenes. Guys read it definitely. Very good book and scenes.Especially mature scenes.
The characters have depth, something I didn't think I'd find in a harem focused story, the writing quality is superb too!So far, the story is progressing very well, not too fast, not too slow, just enough to tease you to read more chapters.Really recommend.
This story definitely has some potential. You should make the world building more mysterious and don't info dump. The world should unravel slowly
A solid novel with well-crafted descriptions and a good sense of realism. The attention to detail adds depth to the scenes, making them engaging. Keep up the good work—though there is still room for improvement
Noice book :D
Amazing and interesting highly recommend
if you shut your brain off it'll be a good story but when you notice how some of this stuff makes zero sense it jus kills your mood. 1. the power scaling is legit horrible like he didnt even think anything out. for some strange reason they are B ranks and in additon to that B ranks in this novel are like S ranks in others also this ranking system goes into like XX which isnt bad but the only reason they go that far is because the author is adamant about having B rank charachters also the mc reaches the novel mc's level reltivley quick and gets a affinity really quick as well and also has two systems that say the same thing so why cant he just have had his orignal system merge with the new system? 2. For some strange reason they fight proffesers which wouldnt be bad but the author uses this chance to introduce other charachters. Its not bad to use cliches cus theres a reason they use them. For example the entrence exam cliche " First Years do tests, fight each other or fight second years that are lower ranking" because obviously this academy wants to see how they do to the lower ranking former first years why would they if the proffesers are XX rank they wouldnt need to fight the students themselves to see how good they are. 3. He introduces so much charachters so quick and doesnt really even introudce someone fully first he jus dashes and goes to the next person.4. He jus gets power ups for no reason???? He gets the cliche no emotion skill fine, but also is out cold for a week where apperntly no one inclduing his very loving mother doesnt contact him at all?? they are super super rich so why doesnt she have somsone watching him why would this rich family leave their son alone and with no body guards it makes no sense. Also has the cliche average mc but his whole family is very attractive so how is he the only average one. I'll keep reading but i doubt ill spend money on this i personally think the author should rewrite this novel and fix the pwer scaling and some of the plot holes as well
I'm excited to see how the author develops the characters throughout the story. Also, I'm intrigued by the author's use of language and storytelling techniques.
The book is really entertaining! The main character seems to have some kind of hidden trauma haunting him, which really adds spice to the story!
Idea and the premise is good, everything else is just bad. Multiple cliches and commonly used tropes. Subpar English with unnatural sentences.
