She has two older sisters who were already married off (described as hardly different from being sold) and a younger brother at home. She helps Su Niannian find someone to buy her factory job. She considers inviting Su Niannian to stay at her house but declines after Su Niannian refuses due to the situation at Tan Wenwen's home.
