Ye Ningxin's mother, a plump woman who is hunched over and timid. She has never seen much of the world and is oppressed by life to the point of numbness. She was obedient to her husband and grew increasingly indifferent toward her daughter after the father favored the younger daughter. She wailed loudly in the courtroom upon learning of her husband's crime.
