really good story
Okay so let me just say—this whole subplot with Lu Jingheng sending Pei Yan photos of Wen Zhiyu having tea with Gu Xingzhou is genuinely brilliant plotting. On the surface it's set up as a classic jealousy trigger, right? The reader is supposed to think, oh no, is she cheating? Is he going to lose his cool? And then Pei Yan just... doesn't. He replies like a stone. "It's just work." And Lu Jingheng himself starts theorizing that Pei Yan might actually be secretly happy about the possibility of a divorce so he can go back to being single. That's such a clever misdirection—the author makes you feel like there's going to be a massive confrontation, but instead the real plot movement is entirely internal. Pei Yan cancels his return flight, books the earliest one, and comes home. But when Wen Zhiyu asks why, he lies and says the food in Haishi didn't suit his taste. The real reason? We don't know yet. That gap between what the reader thinks is happening and what's actually happening is where the tension lives, and it's delicious. The plot doesn't need dramatic confrontations to be gripping—sometimes the most interesting thing is what a character chooses NOT to do.
This was a beautiful story to read. I loved reading all the different stages and all the surprises. Loved hearing of the Indian culture.

At first, I had doubts about this book. but after reading the first ten chapters, I knew this book would be great and I wasn't disappointed. Kudos to the author for creating such an amazing work ...️
