Okay so I need to talk about Xie Yuheng because honestly he is making me so angry right now. He goes to the emperor and asks for a marriage edict for Shen Zhaoli without even ASKING her first. Like, what is wrong with this man? The emperor literally says it to his face: "When it comes to handling political affairs, you are clear-headed and articulate, but in matters of personal affection, why are you so utterly clueless?" And I'm sitting here like YES. This is the exact same man who hurt her before and now thinks he can just waltz in and fix everything by asking the emperor instead of asking HER. The emperor's reaction is so satisfying though — he refuses flat out and even hints that the marriage edict was already given to Shen Zhaoli long ago. That line hit so hard. It shows how much the emperor protects his sister and how little Xie Yuheng actually understands what Shen Zhaoli wants. Meanwhile Su Qingxi is up there playing these games at the banquet, trying to sit next to the princess, trying to show off her poetry skills — she's clearly jealous and calculating. The contrast between these two women is interesting. Su Qingxi thinks she can compete for attention but she has no idea what she's really up against.

I have to say this, the beginning is absolutely flawless and I truly enjoy it. The hunger for vengeance and the thrill of the island really has me in its grasp ?so far it is truly interesting and I believe everyone will enjoy reading this novel.

i absolutely love the development so far, the interaction between MC and the other characters is both funny and serious when needed to be, the world building is well done so far, ans the magic system seems to be very open ended which I love, good work so far
