En la noche después de cenar vuelvo a mi habitación para estudiar algo que descubrí después de leer, analizar y practicar los hechizos, además de tener alguna noción de mi vida pasada, que es la esencia de los elementos.

I can't stop thinking about that Lonely Tree. The author introduces it almost casually — tourists mention it as a landmark, Lin Mo looks up and sees it — but it clearly means something deeper. 'Something about it resonated deeply with her. Standing alone. Just like her.' This is the first time the story explicitly connects the landscape to Lin Mo's internal state. She came to this remote place looking for inspiration, looking for direction, and the very first thing she notices is a tree that has survived everything alone for years. It's a mirror. And then she collapses right there, unable to even reach it. The tree stands. She falls. But the symbolism doesn't end there. The whole journey is about her learning to stand on her own — not in isolation, but in community. Danzeng offers her a place at the guesthouse, not as charity but as partnership. The volunteer arrangement is interesting because it's not a handout — she has something to give (her camera, her sketchbook, her perspective). The story seems to be asking: can you be independent without being alone? Can you accept help without losing yourself? Lin Mo's entire arc so far is about someone who's used to handling everything alone suddenly being forced to rely on others. The Lonely Tree isn't just a symbol of her isolation — it's also a symbol of resilience. It's still standing. Maybe she can be too.
A few things happened over the next few months, and a few things didn't. I grew physically stronger. Dad gradually increased the difficulty as well as the variety of activities. While I didn't feel like I was actually learning how to fight, there was some satisfaction in knowing that I was improving. I had to trust that Dad knew what he was doing and that he wasn't trying to trick me.
She found Oh Jaehyun brooding in front of the breakfast table, his expression gloomy at best. "More or less," came his halfhearted answer. "I brought him up to your office to wait for you there."
"Impossible, unless..." (C)
"Because it's starting to get a little late and we don't want to worry the adults, I'll give you a parting present that the real me would want to give."
