There must be around a thousand light novels of this kind by now. This is just the usual cliche story of genius becomes trash due to his qi being consumed by a grandpa in a ring. If you have read coiling dragon then don't waste your time with this.
I give 5 stars to this novel and it fucking deserves it. It's sad that some RETARDS write in their reviews about how ''common'' novels of that type have become and that's why they give 1~2 stars only. Just because you might be tired of that type of novel doesn't mean this novel isn't good. If you are not up for it then do not fucking read it. Reviews are posted by people that have ACTUALLY READ the novel and have some opinions and informations to share. I havent tried that much sports novels, but this appears below average, at least compared to the Almighty Coach thing which was the only one I read into for a while (ended up dropping it due to various reasons). This novel's starting chapter was good, however a system was introduced in the next together with Kobe Bryant. After reading the next chap(s), this novel appears to be more of a fanfic. If you dont have lots of knowledge of basketball, U.S. basketball at that, you wont be able to enjoy this. Especially considering its taking places in 1994, meaning only people above 30 that are big basketball fans might be able to enjoy it to the fullest. The system was also sort of dulled the story. I think it couldve been better to write him practicing in another way instead of directly saying each thing he does. But this is one thing hard to achieve for a book vs a comic and show.

This has been my favorite book so far.
I prefer this style of Doom to Be the King. For me it is much more succinct in how his cheat works and is also not as cringey (my personal opinion) as the comic one. Very nice.
