Wheres the update?
I loved everything about these books! Amazing, absolutely amazing. Definitely going to be re-reading these beauties
I wish so badly to keep reading!!
I need to talk about this line because it literally stopped my heart: 'In the Pei family... there has never been such a thing as divorce—only being widowed.' Wen Zhiyu had just offered to leave with nothing, convinced she was a disposable pawn, and Pei Yan's response was basically 'you're stuck with me for life.' Not in a creepy way—in a 'I take my vows seriously' way. The contrast between how she saw herself and how he saw her was devastating. She thought she was marrying into a loveless arrangement where she'd be tolerated until he could get rid of her. Meanwhile, he's sitting there thinking about how his parents' lifelong devotion shaped his entire philosophy on marriage. One lifetime, one couple, one love. That's not a man who's going to cheat on his wife because some gossip-mongering actress convinced herself she was special. And the moment he told her 'come straight to me and ask'—that was him building trust, brick by brick. He didn't just clear up the misunderstanding; he gave her a rule for the future. Meanwhile, Wen Zhiyu's internal monologue about being a 'poor student with no money, no family influence, no powerful backing' made me so frustrated on her behalf. She had no idea how valuable she actually was to him. The mother-in-law scene was also peak character work—Pei Yan getting sent upstairs like an inconvenience while his mother and wife shared this deeply intimate moment. He was literally the third wheel in his own marriage, and the author made it funny instead of awkward.
I haven’t read the entire book yet and haven’t gotten far but I already love this book. Bryant is an excellent writer! :)
Nice story, author. ...

love this book!
Soooo nice, congrats author.. hoping for a sequel of this story
Awesome book and very beautiful story line
omg! this chap is really heartbreaking...
I honestly really liked the fast pace of this book. I wouldn’t mind a few spin-offs to get to know the other characters a bit and their stories. A few grammatical errors here and there, but it doesn’t detract from the story. Can’t wait to read all about Angel.
