Centuries in the future, Earth has changed beyond recognition by an event known as the Awakening that teraformed the landscape, evolved the beasts and plants.
Humans were the only one stuck as primate, but that wasn't for long as some of the intelligence beasts take them in as servants and some as cattle.
Centuries later, the discovery of gateways tilt the way thing are and humans were able to Challenge Ascension Rite in order to make pact with beasts and monsters and obtain powers to protect themselves.
Beasts still reigned supreme in the world but some benevolent beasts have sided with humanity and they grow within a confine domain of the gateway.
Unbeknownst to them all, the beasts aren't the only enemies, but the numerous monstrous creatures of unimaginable proportion that are lurking, waiting and refining the world as their finest delicacy.
