I need to talk about Zhuo Chang'an because this boy is NOT simple and I am obsessed. Every time Zhuo Ling sits with him, there's this unspoken tension — she's genuinely wondering whether he suspects her secret, and the narrative keeps hinting that he might. Remember this moment: "For some reason, Zhuo Ling had begun to feel that Eldest Brother could somehow see straight through her." That line gave me chills. He's the one person she trusts most, and she's literally about to tell him everything when a hunter interrupts. The author keeps pulling this thread and I am HERE for it. But what makes Chang'an compelling isn't just the mystery — it's how he treats everyone. He gently rubs Ling'er's head, he deflects Sister-in-law Zhang's scolding without being rude, he declines the flatbread politely, and when she grabs the rabbit and starts drooling, he doesn't scold her, he just says "Be good, Ling'er" and then accepts the rabbit as a gift to the family. He's protective, strategic, and genuinely kind. There's a scene where he's sitting on a rock with Ling'er on his lap, sunlight filtering through the trees, and the author writes: "Peaceful. Serene. The scene was indescribably beautiful." That's not just atmosphere — it's the author telling us this is the emotional core of the story. These two are a team, and whatever secret Ling'er is keeping, she knows he's the only one who can help her carry it. Meanwhile, Sister-in-law Zhang is this perfectly drawn side character — she complains constantly but always shows up with food. She's the kind of neighbor every village story needs. And Fenniang, the mother, is already laying groundwork for the next arc with the hen. The family dynamics feel lived-in, not manufactured.
The market scene with Auntie Li was such a lovely little slice-of-life moment. I love how the author just casually drops in details about the world — fresh shrimp and fish, sewing supplies, tin spoons, towels, handkerchiefs. People exchanging goods for money or ration coupons. The south being less strict about regulations as long as you're not reselling grain at high prices. These tiny details make the island feel like a real place where real people live, not just a backdrop for romance. And then there's the nighttime scene in the family quarters — the house being pitch dark to save kerosene, only moonlight streaming through the windows. Gu Shaoyuan lighting the kerosene lamp and brightening the entire room. The visual of Liu Cuicui stumbling into Yang Zhongcheng's arms with her disheveled hair and loose buttons, looking like she's "cosplaying Sadako" as Qiao Yu puts it — that's such a vivid, almost cinematic image. I could literally see this as a film scene. The garrison base office with the terrain map, the soldiers at the entrance, the way ordinary people can't just walk in — all of this builds a military world that feels grounded. And Auntie Li's description of Gu Shaoyuan as "like a reassuring anchor" during typhoons? That tells you so much about his character without any exposition. The world feels lived-in and the settings serve the story instead of just being decoration.
Blood and Sorcery is a gripping tale of magic, betrayal, and survival. The story weaves dark fantasy elements with intense character development, keeping readers on edge. The addition of the Fallen Beast adds depth to the lore. With vivid storytelling and high stakes, this novel is a must-read for fantasy lovers.

So far I'm liking this novel better than the others you've written, Author. Keep up the gj!
The overall pace of the novel is good, and in my personal opinion it is not cringe but I feel the MC needs to be smart, he needs to train and increase his stats, but he just gains more and more skills, and to the author I would suggest showing the status screen little more so the readers can keep up with the progress
