good, as you did not cheat on me ... I should take off you - Anna with a cheerful mood
That felt like a hundred years ago. The old owl the essential skills to survive and taught him how to advance through the forest. Like how he grabbed hard onto the edge of a branch and lifted himself up, the myriad of fluttering leaves in his face, the uneven exterior of wood scraping his palms. It was like someone was doing the moves for him. But, there was never a safe route in the forest, especially during the season where the wooden giants grow tired and shrivel. One leap after another, Lam made progress through the understory until his ears sensed something above.
I really like the plot of this novel....refreshing to read and kind of different to your usual apocalypse novel....The MC has a likeable personality making the story interesting.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!! ??
Yua gives an approving nod. "So you found a few new uses of barriers, soundproofing and bait. Very good. Now you only need one more."
"…" I also looked back at the screen when he let go of his words, but I didn't expect for the screen to—literally—suck me back into his perspective.
"You think I'll let you go after what you did in front of your mother?" Tengfei asked, his voice strained from the anger he held back earlier. He had to suffer Yixue's wrath again because of him. "No way, baby!"
Okay so let me just say—Zhan Beiyuan is the type of male lead who makes me want to shake him and also ship him so hard at the same time. Like, he's standing there in his wedding robes looking all icy and regal, and this woman shows up with TWO kids that look exactly like him and he's just completely thrown. The man couldn't handle it if he tried. His whole demeanor is 'I have a hidden ailment and I have never touched a woman in my life' and then boom, dragon and phoenix twins at his doorstep. The internal conflict here is *chef's kiss.* But the real star of the character dynamics is Jiang Yunxi. This woman is playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing checkers. She knows she's dying—only three months left—and she's already calculated that he won't take responsibility for HER but he absolutely will for the children. That's not manipulation, that's strategy. She's not trying to trap him into marriage; she's securing a future for her kids before she dies. And yet, the text says her heart was trembling. She's scared of him. She's scared he'll remember that night and deal with her. There's this vulnerability underneath all her confidence that I just love. The children are also carrying so much weight in these pages. Momo is already this cold, sharp little guy who looks like a mini Zhan Beiyuan, and Mianmian is all sweetness and dimples. When they both call the Retired Emperor 'Grandfather Emperor' and he nearly cries? I was not prepared for that emotional hit. And the Retired Emperor himself—this man is on his deathbed and his first instinct is still to force his son to marry and produce heirs. Classic. But then he meets the kids and suddenly he wants to live longer. The shift in him is so human. "Your Highness, a beautiful woman has arrived outside with a pair of dragon and phoenix twins. She says the children are yours and that you must take responsibility…" — this opening line sets up the entire relationship dynamic in one sentence. Theaudacity. The chaos. The instant complication. I'm obsessed.
The Lieutenant listened to the situation in full, and then-
Persephone smiled mischievously and checked around again, "He threw himself into upholding the new laws which meant he had less time to cause other trouble. And even though it was his own special dictatorship, at least it was more predictable than it was before." she finished and took a few steps back giggling quietly.
It was then that she saw a lean shadow jump from a rooftop to the other while carrying a tiny bundle on their shoulder that looked strangely humanoid and that was moving around wildly.
Feeling bad for her friends, Xiao Han decided to lie as she did not wish for her friends to be worried or grief over the loss of their friend.
