Eamon was visibly stunned at Visha's quick deduction. Although he spoke in a very lackadaisical manner, his words carried a strong weight behind it. Eamon nodded, extremely impressed.
The guard had a confused look on his face as he watched the two boys carry the resistant third boy into the Central Dorm. The three of them followed Arata into a building to the side of the main dorm. It seemed like a miniature gymnasium with a large gold door at the front. Arata pulled the heavy door open and went inside. He saw Eamon and Eva and smiled as he walked over and politely bowed. Eamon nodded politely before turning his head to the noise he heard behind Arata.
"Yup. Now where're you getting at?" (Zack)
"Everybody, let's go through with the plans again." (Zack)
I really tried... I’m 600 chapters in, and all I have is frustration. The story started interesting and unique, but as it progressed, the story got more and more mind boggling. The beginning started with the MC being pretty OP and smart, maneuvering and using traps to defeat her enemies. Then magic powers started being introduced that made no sense at all. First the teleporting and then the magic curses. Why does every ‘poison’ that the MC cures have to be some sort of ‘magic curse.’ First off, she was an assassin in the modern world. How was she able to know and use teleportation powers suddenly after reincarnating? Weird, but I ignored it. Then suddenly she has amazing medical skills out of nowhere. The author decided to pull some B S out of nowhere to have ‘continuity.’ Because she was an assassin she shouldn’t know medical knowledge, but somehow is the premier expert on curses. It would make more logical sense if it were the other way around, her bringing modern medical skills to the ancient cultivation/magic world. And the magic world having advanced knowledge on curses.Another annoying plot point is the Doctor from the modern world. How the hell does that make any sense, and how did he preserve the body of his lover... I’m just done... just done..
The first five chapters were enough to make me decide to follow this novel closely. The translation quality is good although there are instances when I get confused on who's talking or who's thinking. (But I think that's on me.) I hope Qidian adds more Romance Novels in it's roster. You're missing out on a big market!
I actually started reading this before it was taken up by QI.It's a good story, but realize that it's definitely taking the scenic route towards the end. There are many characters, many plots and plot twists. Most of the antagonists have a better reason for trying to kill the MC than most xianxia "young-master" types. The whole thing is actually pretty fun if you're into reading stories which plan for the long-haul.Which wouldn't be a problem if it ever updated.Seriously, I don't think this has updated for at least a year.
The story starts off very intriguing! It makes me wonder what else will lead the MC to what happens in the beginning. It’s also very well written so that the story flows without grammatical distractions.
Sup dear readers..The first volume of 'Bro, I'm not an Undead' is done.I feel this is right time to give myself an adequate and unbiased critique.Writing Quality:I'd rate it at a 4 as its not perfect but I can guarantee its not hard to navigate through, especially when deep plot points are not being explored. if you see any grammar, or spelling errors, you are free to point them out.Story Development:The first volume might have pace issues for others but I tried to ensure that there was no redundancy when it came to plot threads. If you feel differently do tell me how certain parts made you feel otherwise.Character Design:I made a grand effort to ensure that each character has visualisable (If that's the word) features and distinct traits that make them identifiable from the cluster of characters in the story. Updating Stability:I update on a daily basis a single chapter and four or more over the weekend.World Background:There is an intricate power system which has been hinted and explored at its base in this Volume but I don't think it's hard to understand. As for the world, Volume 2's purpose is to clarify and expand it, giving the MC his next adventure.Volume 2 Details:There will be a lot of fun and distinctive characters that will interact and shape the MC and his powers. The stakes are huge and very personal for the MC and he will face an integral development within it.
