This story was about to finish, guys. Stay tuned.
Its okay. Just keep the update as usual. Its a very bad essense to keep on waiting
i hope we are getting to the end of the book.
Okay so let me just say — the account book scene is absolutely delicious. Not because it's fun, but because watching Yu Sheng dismantle her own family's corruption with nothing but a glance and a few questions? Chef's kiss. The stewards thought they could muddle through because she's young and a woman. Classic. Steward Liang literally smiled and said "Young lady, there's no need to be so polite" — like he was offering her tea, not handing her a confession. And then she drops: "Why is it that the ink in the account books from half a year ago hasn't dried even today?" I literally gasped. That's not just catching them red-handed — that's psychological warfare. She's not even using an abacus. She's just... looking. And they're sweating through their robes. But what really got me is the family dynamic here. Her uncles and aunts didn't just steal — they used paintings, calligraphy, jewelry, estates to patch accounts. They're literally liquidating the family legacy to cover their tracks. And Father Yu somehow kept the businesses afloat despite all this? That man is a saint or a genius, probably both. And Cui Gui — oh my god, Cui Gui. While getting stabbed, his first thought is "surely the eldest young lady will give me an extra two months' wages when she sees this, right?" GUO HU YELLS AT HIM "YOU NEED TO BE ALIVE TO SPEND IT!" and I was wheezing. This man is fighting for his life and he's still negotiating his salary. The man has priorities. The real tragedy though is that none of these servants actually care about the Yujia family. When Feihong asks "Do you still remember who pays your monthly wages?" they immediately pivot to "From now on, we will definitely follow the young mistress's lead!" Fence-sitters to the end. Yu Sheng knows it — she literally "didn't quite trust these fence-sitters" — but she uses them anyway because she needs the information. That's not naive. That's calculating. I love how Yu Sheng handles all of this. No rage, no drama. Just cold, methodical dismantling of everyone who thought they could play her.
great book, great writing.
can't wait to hear what happens.this book just keeps getting better.
I couldn't control my happiness when saw the double update. Thank you
interesting book
This has just gotten beyond ridiculous and unrealistic. An intelligent person will know the amount of stupidity the two main characters are showing at this point doesn’t make sense. Please bring this to an end. The author is just trying to keep it going for coins and that doesn't look good at all.
Love this book
