I went into these chapters expecting political maneuvering and got hit with a full emotional gut punch from a twelve-year-old kid. Little Chu Linqing. Sweet, terrified, feverish Linqing. He was carried on his brother's back during the escape, he peed in shame during the ghost maze incident, and then he started convulsing from fright. And Madam Fifth — trembling, helpless, kneeling before Chu Linzhang begging him to save her son — that scene broke something open in me. Because here's the thing: Hua Zhiyun had just manipulated Chu Linzhang. She'd betrayed his escape. She'd trapped his family. And yet when that child started shaking, she felt GUILTY. She gave him pediatric fever medicine from her pre-apocalypse supplies like it was nothing. 'For Chu Linzhang's sake,' she told herself. But really? She couldn't watch a child suffer and do nothing. That's the emotional core of this whole story, isn't it? It's not about the political intrigue or the zombie apocalypse or even the romance. It's about people who have been hurt and betrayed and still choosing, moment by moment, to protect the vulnerable ones. Madam Fifth whistling encouragement while her son peed — that's love. Chu Linzhang sighing and saying 'very well, I'll return' to save his family — that's love. Hua Zhiyun secretly medicating a child she barely knows — that's love, even if she'd never admit it. I'm a mess. A complete mess.

The overall pace of the novel is good, and in my personal opinion it is not cringe but I feel the MC needs to be smart, he needs to train and increase his stats, but he just gains more and more skills, and to the author I would suggest showing the status screen little more so the readers can keep up with the progress
This novel has everything a great story should have. A rich story building, complex characters with their own qualities and flaws, making them relatable, mysteries that will make you want more and all of that is backed with impressive writing skills. If you are someone who doesn't mind a slow burn and is searching for all the qualities I mentioned, then I strongly recommend this one! ?

Ok here’s my review: Prologue is amazing! So so cool! And then the vibe between the characters is the sweetest brotherhood vibe. I love that. I can see this being a very exciting book! I can sit and listen to this one which is great.
this has an intriguing storyline. it's concept is kind of compelling and attractive to me.the characters were well written. they depict emotional depth and so on.I recommend this story
