I was surprised by how swiftly I completed this novel, but what truly stood out was its concise narrative without excessive background details stretching the story. The portrayal of Chuan-er was particularly engaging; I doubt I would have finished it if he weren't the protagonist. His awkward moments elicited a shared embarrassment from me, which added an amusing touch.
Although at times, the plot twists were predictable, I still found the reading enjoyable and eagerly awaited each development. I appreciate that the author refrained from dragging the story unnecessarily or including extraneous character backstories.
Notably, I must mention that, unlike other novels I've read, I found myself empathizing with all the characters rather than feeling annoyed or hateful towards any of them. This was a refreshing change.

The start was a bit sluggish (or perhaps the translated chapters were brief), but it's picking up pace now. Initially, I continued reading due to the commendable translation (not all translations from this group are of this quality, so I hope they maintain the standard). It was also during the early stages, and I'm glad I persevered. The plot is still in its infancy, but thus far, it appears promising – it doesn't rely on an instant love explosion. The male lead might come across as unlikable at first, but he hasn't coerced the female lead into any actions.
