I was initially interested in this novel, and I read to chapter 182. I enjoy reading slice of life system novels. However, this novel took a very weird turn.
When the main character first got the system, the system told him that there wouldn't force him to do anything dangerous. However, all of a sudden there is now a life or death competition against other system holders? Wasn't this supposed to be a slice of life pet store novel? Why did it change so fast?
Normally I wouldn't care all that much about this competition, but the problem is the main character literally has no reason nor motivation to participate in this. The only reason he is the owner of a pet shop is because his parents died, and so he wanted to take over. The reason the main character started capturing this mystical pets is basically, "why not?".
Anyway, this story is pretty slow. The main character focuses on the mystical pets he has 100% of the time, why is kinda disappointing for a pet store owner that has 10 - 30 pets and only focusing on three of them. (So far) Normally in a story like this, you'd expect a lot of cute moments, because well, the main character owns a pet store. However, those are far and wide, nowhere to be seen. The story is extremely slow and repetitive, to the point of annoyance.
However, this novel does have some good comedy. Like when the main character implied communism would be a good idea.
The translation quality of this novel is pretty mid. Everything is understandable, but they randomly change the names of various characters/pets. It's extremely confusing because they literally have two different names for a character in a single chapter.
Overall, the novel is decent, but the fact that the author drones on and on about random stuff really makes this novel too slow to bear. I am unsure why they put a action-plot in a slice of life novel, but whatever.
Short synopsis
Short review
It is a pretty good novel for CN novel and this the first time reading about heroines coming back I time for the mc.
around 50 chapter in and not much sign of harem (2 potential were even deflected). this is really good and but it look like it lack popularity. the synopsis honestly sound generic although i admit that i can't think any better. the conflict is well thought out without using those brain dead cliches villain (no father, grandfather, elder, and ancestors coming to get you). there is no system, power mostly come from pure godlike talent and hardwork.
book started with transmigration, but there was no background on the cause and it jumped straight into the plot. also i dont know if the original book had anglo names but the translation does. BUT the names are reversed like in asian novels. the MC is named daniel davis. buy you find out in the 2 or 3rd chapter daniel is the family name. another character is named kitto gard. and his brothers name is kitto. so obvious structure error for a book with a western theme
Im not sure what to say about this novel honestly, i feel this poor translaters talent is wasted on this novel
honestly i quite liked the first 50ish chapters where it was more of a slap stick comedy with a retardedly op mc, with plot armor so thicc that he could honestly survive a direct nuclear blast
However, after reading a bit further, that is really not the case, the mc feels so incredibly weak, levels, stats and gear have no meaning
this chapter i dropped it, he has a pet with a base 750 ms, which is so fast that the pet can catch arrows mid air. this stupid mother****er gets some **** stolen from him (game mechanics lol) and he doesnt use the fastest boi alive, excuse me what the ****
it was an alright time sink comedy, but jesus christ he ruined that too
I feel like this is what Bringing the Farm to Live in Another World should have been. I have read a few books that supposedly focus on crafting, mining, or farming but that focus is usually lackluster at best. Combat and mass battles seem to come in all too often. This book does a very nice job of staying focused and interesting. The characters feel real and the story is solid. I really look forward to every new chapter.
If there was one thing that stands out a bit, the MC seems to make sudden jumps in social competence occaisionally. He originally is described as unsocial almost to the point of autistic but by chapter 11 he seems to be a very well adjusted, socially adept individual. He goes from so dense that he never thinks of his childhood friend as anything but a friend to suavely hitting on her in no time flat. I was glad to avoid the cringe but it felt unexpected given the initial description of the character.
I have to say that i didn't ecept this novel to be this good , this novel had beaten me into submission , forcing me to give this review and to add it into my library
It’s super good. I specificaly like their enemies and the world background. The author has a way with words that makes me so excited. I’ve been recommended this and it already has 40+ updates! Keep up the good work!
AM GIVING THIS STORY A TOTAL OF FIVE STARS JUST LIKE I GAVE MINE ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
