I wasn’t expecting much from this novel but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a pity though that it’s apparently on hiatus and doesn’t have that many chapters yet.
Spoilers.
Let me explain the world background. Taking place in Japan, supposedly 90% of people are religious and the main religions are Shintoism and Buddhism. Religion isn’t as strict as irl, you can smoke and have fun but there are still some restrictions. This is mostly due to spiritual energy and evil spirits existing in the world. Now, evil spirits and Yokai aren’t secrets. The world knows about them though regular people treat it as mysterious and scary. The police will often outsource special cases involving spirits to temples and shrines. Regular people will also request for spirits to be taken care of if they are being haunted. This is a pretty good summary, not gonna explain everything.
The main character is a transmigrator who appears in this world and becomes a monk. He is very hard working and smart though he seems to have actually become a monk mentally and rejects all advances from girls so he can do more training. And yes, he is handsome. But, he has trained too hard though and is pretty powerful. He only has his abbot as a frame of reference and since he too is very powerful apparently, the MC thinks he’s only pretty good. There are ranks among monks and shrine maiden btw but you can read it yourself.
So anyways, he comes from a small temple so he needs money to expand the temple. That’s the main motivation or goal that he has. There is also of course getting stronger but that’s secondary.
Now there is someone that I’m guessing is the female lead. She is a shrine maiden and isn’t too bad. They meet and she takes him along on missions to record videos and she pays him part of the remuneration. I don’t know how to describe her but she’s likable.
He gets more famous and takes on bigger jobs, there also seems to be some connection between these cases...
Translation is great, I don’t remember seeing any mistakes. Grammar is good too.
Really liked the story. Pretty high quality stuff so far. Again, it’s a shame there isn’t much right now but it’s still good.

Once again.. the best book is not picked and some stupid dumbass novel with avg ratings gets selected..
Quite a few good books from the trial reads were dumped. Sigh..
The beginning if the novel was good, but from the start of the meeting with the senior of another era, it has go down form my view. The next thing is that he has not the right behavior of his yung body and the middel old soul. The last think ist the fast cultivation tempo of the boy with the badest spirtroot of the world. (With no extra things for cultivation.)(Logic???)
so I have red up till chapter 49 so I will base my review based on that.
Mc is a transmigrated player into an NPC body with the ability to upgrade his abilites through something called Life points , which he gets when he kills Npc and players alike , this novel got possible kingdom building or more like sect building.
The world background for now isn't large but it's sufficient for the place the novel is at now.
Mc isn't dumb and he gathers his forces using the system and his own power to crush them to submit to him.
all in all I would suggest you read it.
Putting the grammatical errors and the mechanics aside, THIS IS A PRETTY GOOD PLOT! It made me realize that we indeed as writers, have different fortes! I couldn’t do anything like this! Keep it up, Shadow! I could really see potential!
Fantastic novel all around. Probably the best pure mmorpg novel i've read. It takes everything from novels like Strongest sword god, great thief and virtually every other mmorpg based novel and does everything better.
Stupid story, terrible grammar, reading it equal to torturing yourself. Plus mix up storyline even i dont know whats happening. Overall garbage novel. I mean the point of writing a novel is to let your reader understand what you are writing, the emotion behind it but this **** is useless. I try to force myself reading it but i gave up until chapter 56.
I really, really, reallyyyyyyy love your stort author! I hope that you'll update more chapters of it. I can't get enough of this story. I'm waiting for their next adventures and how the story develops. Also, the character development of each of them. Love this story ❤️❣️
I'll be honest, this is a refreshing concept of a story! Who doesn't want an dystopian world? It has a lot of vital information about the story! Although I have only the few parts of the book, I can say this is going to be awesome! I pointed out some gramatiical mistakes in the comment's section. I hope that helps!
