Love this story!!!
Shit is getting real ...
Sheesh! I've read only a few chapters but I think it's just another story about a girl whose innocence is stripped from her, falling for the guy who defiles her. Do all the ladies in the stories have to be so weak as to succumb to harassment, defilement or maltreatment???
You can share this book with your friends and sure they will love this book
it is an amazing book has lot of things going on and really addictive to read really fun so far really good book
I like this, but I don't understand how she can not know that he is her Jordan from the past.
A few scenes in this passage are so vividly written I could literally see them as movie frames. The opening: Wen Lingyi stepping back, closing the door, and it won't shut because a large hand wrapped in fine cloth is holding it open. He's standing there, utterly aggrieved, tears falling in heavy drops. The door won't close. He won't let go. It's such a simple physical detail but it says everything about his refusal to be shut out of her life. Then the hairpin scene—moonlight spilling down, the pink-white petals blurring and spreading, her delicate face lit by silver light. The author takes time here. We see the craftsmanship: six layered petals, three rubies at the center, two tender leaves with serrated edges, a dewdrop carved with lifelike precision. This isn't just description for description's sake. It's the visual representation of everything Wei Zheng is offering—beauty, precision, devotion, something so carefully made it could only come from someone who's thought about her for years. And Chen Wanrou's entrance—dressed especially dazzlingly, approaching Wen Lingyi who just stepped out of the courtyard gate. The contrast between Chen Wanrou's cheap rouge and Wen Lingyi's radiant beauty under the camellia hairpin. Wen Lingyi's smile that makes Chen Wanrou shiver. The power dynamic flipped so cleanly it's almost painful to watch. The marquisate itself feels alive—ancestral halls, Shanchun Courtyard, the political intrigue of Jingdu noble society. The human sacrifice burial custom mentioned in passing (Da Zhou practices it!) adds this dark undercurrent to everything. Women are pawns, reputations are weapons, and survival requires scheming. But in the middle of all this filth, there's this one pure, desperate love story happening.
