This book had me hanging from a thread! The story telling capabilities from the author are beyond impressive! I think I felt every emotion the main characters felt in the process.

I need to talk about Su Ning's confrontation with that older man because WOW. The way she just dismantled him question by question—"What kind of treatment will your team provide? How much gold and loot per day?"—this woman does not have time for nonsense. And the best part? She didn't just attack him emotionally, she attacked his logic. "If he thinks about taking us in, he must be able to support us. Otherwise, that's not shelter—it's a burden!" I literally screamed at my phone. But what really got me was the quiet moment after, when she turns to Qiao Duoduo and asks "Do you think I was too sharp today?" That's the Su Ning I fell in love with. She's fierce in public but she still cares about how her words land on the people she's closest to. And Qiao Duoduo's response? Perfect. She didn't coddle Su Ning, she just said "A little, yes" and then went on to validate her completely. Their dynamic is so healthy. Su Ning protects, Qiao Duoduo grounds her. And then there's the whole thing with the parents—Su Ning crafting that staff named "Expensive Indeed" for her mom, sending it back to the newbie village, dreaming about the day they'll reunite. The emotional core of this story isn't the combat or the loot; it's a daughter who's fighting to build something so her family can join her. That's what makes Su Ning's character work so well.
This story got me hooked. I can't wait for the next chapter.

The story is ok but I'll be asking for a refund since this author doesnt bother to update and also lies about when she'll update but then does nothing. 10/10/23 was the last update. it was also a very short chapter. basically just throwing a bone. There are so many better authors that keep promises
