Can we just appreciate how good Xu Xi's dialogue is? This woman does not waste words. When Wu Yong tries to play it cool: "Sorry, I'm not familiar with you. There's nothing to say." Done. Next. When Mother Zhou confronts her about the pregnancy: "I have nothing to do with that man! He was harassing me... The child in my belly is, of course, Zhou Yue's. The doctor said I'm carrying twins. Isn't it natural for my belly to be big?" — this is a masterclass in defensive storytelling. She delivers it in one breath, with a "barely noticeable sob" to sell it. The mother-in-law swallows her anger and backs off. Perfection. But the absolute peak of dialogue in these chapters is the train scene. When everyone starts morally coercing her: "Doesn't our society promote unity and friendship nowadays?" And Xu Xi's response? She just devours the fried dough stick in front of them and blinks innocently. No words needed. The silence after that is comedic gold. Her brothers' dialogue is also great—each one has a slightly different voice. The eldest is dramatic, the second is ready for a fight, the third just wants to sleep. And Mother Xu's voice is all warmth and worry. Everyone sounds distinct.
The pacing in these chapters is absolutely surgical. Let me break down why it works so well. It starts slow — breakfast scene, quiet, almost mundane. But the tension is simmering underneath everything. Sikong Nian injecting her, the pheromone leak confession, the silent agreement with Xie Ren to keep it secret. Three months. The number is dropped like a stone and you feel it sink. Then the classroom scene begins with atmospheric description, Gu Shiyan's entrance, the four young masters filing in one by one. Each character arrival shifts the energy — Gu Shiyan brings suffocating warmth, Sikong Nian brings cold authority, Xie Ren brings restless undercurrent, and Pei Sichen brings absolute zero. The three-hour class passes almost lazily — notes being taken, glances exchanged, Gu Shiyan pretending to study while actually watching her. It's a breather. A calm before the storm. And then the vice dean appears. "Students, please quiet down. There's an important announcement." Classic setup. You KNOW something is coming. The pacing slows even further — the vice dean clearing his throat, adjusting his glasses, the deliberate pause before speaking Xie Ren's name. Then the explosion. Three months. Her reaction. The silence. The favorability spike. Gu Shiyan's whispered question. The chapter ends on that note — "Little Suisui, when did you and Xie Ren become so close? You haven't been... swapped out, have you?" — and I am SCREAMING. The transition from the quiet classroom to the emotional earthquake to the creepy ending question is perfectly calibrated. No drag, no rush, just relentless forward momentum disguised as a school day.

Hi Everyone,Shameles Author here. Beware its a slow paced novel. Also its my first one so any constructive criticism is highly welcome
Interesting story with an easygoing storytelling that is fun to read. A little bit of editing to balance each chap tercontents will make the book more improvement. Keep writing and upload more chapters.
Perfect, just what our feeble world needed. Sometimes the only way to heal is to face whatever darkness we have within, and this novel is one book to help people who needs it in ways un-sugarcoated.
