I need to talk about Ying Shi because this character is everything. Let me just say it: she's the kind of protagonist who makes you want to be her friend. She's twenty, a finance sophomore who watches dramas in her free time, works as an unpaid film blogger out of pure passion, and when some psycho fan tries to murder her, her first instinct isn't to cower—it's to screenshot everything and go to war. The line that got me was when she basically told the system 'Thank you, boss! I will definitely work hard' after learning she inherited a building. That's not greed, that's survival instinct from someone who grew up in an orphanage, relied on student loans, and never had anything handed to her. Now she's looking at a twelve-story skyscraper and her reaction is pure joy, not suspicion. That tells you everything about who she is. She doesn't overthink the good stuff because she's used to only getting the hard stuff. And her motivation for entering the industry isn't revenge—it's actually altruistic. She explicitly says she wants to 'boost the overall industry environment and benefit capable actors who were currently out of work.' She's not trying to become a celebrity herself; she's trying to fix a broken system so other people don't get crushed by it. That's genuinely admirable character writing. The contrast with Li Yinan is stark—he's a comedy blogger who rebranded himself as a visual idol despite having neither the looks nor the acting skills, and his fans are so brainwashed they celebrate violence against someone who just criticized their idol. Ying Shi represents everything the industry lacks: authenticity, work ethic, and a moral compass. I'm already emotionally invested in her journey.
Brilliant as always!! The way Lee is opening up to Scarlett is amazing, but I'm so worried that things will change when Grayson returns. I want her to be with Lee sooo bad at this point! Update soon!
