She's the one holding Xu Zhizhi's entire world together—dragging her out of the dog bed, picking her clothes, reminding her to eat fruit that's been sitting in the fridge since the day before yesterday. The energy she brings is chaotic mother hen and I love it. But what's fascinating is the power dynamic. Lin Xitang is clearly the dominant one in the friendship. She threatens to show up and make hotpot. She yells about autumn clothes. She calls Zhou Che out when he's being ridiculous. And Xu Zhizhi—this girl who could probably outsmart anyone academically—just shuffles around like a startled turtle. "Xu Zhizhi hunched her shoulders, shot a glare at Zhou Che, and shuffled step by tiny step into the bedroom. Extremely reluctantly." The Zhou Che dynamic is also gold. He's the relaxed observer, the one who can poke at Lin Xitang without getting hurt because he knows exactly where the boundaries are. His nickname for Xu Zhizhi—"the little girl"—is equal parts affectionate and maddening, and I can tell this will cause friction later. "The little girl hasn't grown much taller, drink more milk." BRO. Xu Zhizhi's reaction? "If the tiger doesn't show its might, do they really think she has a good temper? And so, she unleashed a small storm of fury once again." This girl has layers. And He Conglan? He's the wildcard. The junior who cries three times a day, the guy who seems to exist just to create minor social disasters. His presence in the friend group feels like a plot device waiting to explode.
I'm still thinking about Xiao Yi's dialogue because it's genuinely one of the most well-written speech moments I've read in this genre. When Da Xi'an requests Pei Nai's hand, Xiao Yi doesn't just say no. He doesn't get angry or political. He says: "Marriage is no trivial matter. It concerns the happiness of two families, and only mutual affection can be called a destined union. I have followed her teachings all these years and have never arranged marriages arbitrarily." This is a ruler speaking, but it's also a man who was taught by a woman (Lady Yingwu) and actually internalized her philosophy. The dialogue does triple duty here: it advances the plot, it characterizes Xiao Yi as thoughtful and principled, and it thematically echoes Pei Nai's own values from her past life. And Pei Nai's internal response—"Well said! Her teachings—how well he had learned them."—is such a perfect character beat. She's proud. Not of herself directly, but of the legacy she left behind living on in someone else. The storyteller's voice is also distinct. "In the Battle of Chishan, General Guo Min died a tragic and heroic death. The Wu tribe colluded with Xiao Bin, plotting to seize the throne." There's a performative quality to it—rising and falling, vivid emotion—that contrasts with Pei Nai's quiet, internal reactions. The dialogue between the two men discussing the Hunxi Whip feels like natural eavesdropping: "It's just a gimmick" vs "How can they let it be tainted in a mere competition?" Even the child's dialogue—"beau…tiful… lady…"—is perfectly rendered. Simple, broken speech that carries enormous emotional weight because of what Pei Nai projects onto it.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how natural this dialogue feels? Like, every character has a distinct voice and I can tell who's speaking without looking at the names. The scene where Qin Ruan calls Shen Jianing "Aunt" and the enamel mug CLANGS against the table? That single action beat is everything. You don't need a paragraph of description. Just the sound of the mug and Shen Jianing spinning around awkwardly. "Y-You don't have to call me Aunt! I'm only five years older than you." This girl sounds like a real person—flustered, young, trying to be hospitable but caught off guard. And then Grandma Hu Yufen nearly SPITS OUT her water. That's not written drama, that's organic comedy that comes from character interaction. The grandmother's voice is so distinct too—practical, frugal ("Why waste money on a phone call? Calls are so expensive"), but deeply loving. She slips 20 yuan under her own pillow for her granddaughter without being asked. Her love language is action, not words. The soldiers gossiping about Qin Ruan at the gate? Perfect comic relief. "What a pity she's a little dark. If her skin were fairer, she'd be absolutely perfect" — and then the young soldier immediately defending her. These are background characters with actual personality. Even the system dialogue has a distinct voice: [Replying to the Host: Yes, you can.] Cold, efficient, mechanical. It contrasts perfectly with the warmth of the human interactions.
make mc absolutely insanely handsome by awakening somthing inside him and it will make more impact on his villain side when he goes to any place female leads will have attraction towards mc so those son of heaven will have jealousy towards mc. and it will make story more believable or it won't after all female leads won't get attracted to just good looking guy after all they are always played by fate

Seriously, I am in love with this novel, waiting for next chapters. This is the best Bl novel I have ever read. Noah, oh my god, he is so submissive, I am just overwhelmed by his personality so far and Kai is just like a bad boy singer looking for chance to tease kai.
