I recommend this book totally. Its a very good slice of lifish novel with the MC being the very best, ideal teacher that could ever be.With that being said, I will drop this book now because of what he implied about India here (155). Hindus, Indians, we give our women equal rights as much as the Western world does. Its a crime being born a woman in the Middle East yet this SOB ignores that and puts forth a completely ignorant view of the Indian Society. Don't even talk about the past. There were no women rights in Europe as well. Even now, no Pope has ever been a woman whilst we have Goddesses and female priests. This is a stereotype created by Britain when it ruled us and now everyone believes it. India was exploited and we were amongst the most poor countries of the world, so after Independence, families decided to prioritize males to get most returns. It was pragmatic. Now when we have the means, everyone has equal rights. Similarly, any evil practices that you might have heard of were the result of times and not of culture. If you disagree, you may ask for clarifications and I will provide them to you.All in all, the stereotype irked me well enough that I read the same chapter thrice wondering what to do. So, I decided to not read it.

I honestly dont know why people say its just a ripoff of TBATE when it diverges midway and TBATE is also a ripoff of mushoku tensei (which is one of the best isekais and reincarnation stories along with rezero and both were the one the popularized the genre on the first place)

Classic 5-star author review.In this novel, I write what the reader in me wanted to read in a cultivation novel.First and foremost, I am an enjoyer of the xianxia genre and cultivation novels in general. But some common points tend to frustrate me or take me out from the plots. Typical examples include MCs that are needlessly hiding their abilities when they could obtain huge benefits by just revealing some or the MCs vowing to stay low-key only for them to murder the son of a powerful figure the next minute, because he insulted their parents or something.With Journey of the Immortal Grandmaster, I try to portray believable characters with logical behaviors, even as those characters become more and more extraordinary. You will find a martial art adventure with a new realistic spin to it, and an accent on science. No OP MCs, cheat items, and stupid stepping stones piling out one after the other.Our MC will have to climb his way up with his determination and wits, from a normal starting point.Han Lingyun, our MC, is very smart but isn’t perfect either as he is in a growth state. You might find him on the cowardly side, especially compared to the traditional MCs. It is in Han Lingyun’s nature to calculate risks and rewards all the time.Admittedly, this novel is not for everyone: there won’t be constant life and death fights and face slapping if that is what you are looking for. The plot should fit more those that prefer ‘low-key’ MCs, more specifically, the MCs that don’t rely on Deus Ex Machina for saving themselves from an all-powerful cultivator they angered for the hundredth time.Don’t hesitate to join Han Lingyun on his epic journey!
I have been coerced to write a review for straight vanilla romance by the author. It's about a fox girl in a apocalyptic world...if the title doesn't give it away /heavy sarcasm. It is however begrudgingly a good novel despite being straight, with it at least having a side yuri couple. It has good fight scenes, and decent chemistry between the characters, so actually try checking it out when you're free. Oh and it doesn't have any obvious plot holes if that's something that annoys you, and the setting of the novel is actually pretty good.
I like the story, the plots not really unique but its entertaining to read.
My one issue with this novel is, well, the romance aspect of it. I don't care if the MC is deranged or a lunatic, however it doesn't make any sense why its in the plot.
Where exactly does MC even find time for a romance is the grand scheme of things?!?!?
It's so unrealistic and contradictory to how you established character... how exactly does romance fit into a novel where the protag is motivated by ambition to overcome the laws of the world in the novel?
He wants powers, he actively strives for it and disregards the life of others like insects to achieve what he wants.... and now your trying to make me believe he can suddenly love after all that he's done and willing to do?
It's ridiculous. You don't establish the essence of your character as ruthless and power hungry, devoid of feeling and morality, only seeking power, to add in a romance in the middle of the novel....
You might ask why you shouldn't do this? Easy! Because someone willing to do anything for power would NEVER LOVE ANYONE that would become a HUGE weakness.
It contradicts your plot and established MC's sense of self/motivations/goals that the author wrote HIMSELF.
You could see from the earlier chapters of this novel that the author kept trying to find ways to make a romance happen, inserting the obvious FL every chance he got and it only got worse, especially at around chapter(s) 592+ onwards.
It would have been all great except how the MC progressed many many chapters earlier. We know that he's a psychopath, and he lacks any feelings. By the time the romance (AKA lovesick desperate author wants some MEOWWW) comes in, its not only unbelievable, it's an insult to readers intelligence and time spent reading.
