Okay so I need to talk about Lin Xiaoyu and her mom because honestly this whole hospital scene hit different on that level. Like, yeah, Lin Xiaoyu has billions now and all that, but watching her navigate this with her parents—especially her mom—I felt something real. There's this moment where Li Xiulan grabs her daughter's arm and pulls her out of the consultation room, forcing this apologetic smile at the doctor and the nurse. She's terrified her daughter offended Director Chen, and she keeps saying "I'll just do the tests again, don't worry, Mom has money." But here's the thing—Lin Xiaoyu now has billions. She couldn't care less about the cost. Her mom thinks she's trying to save money, but really her daughter just doesn't want her to suffer unnecessary blood draws. That gap between them? That's the whole mother-daughter dynamic in a nutshell. Li Xiulan still sees herself as the protector, the one who provides, even though the tables have completely turned. And Lin Chenghai—poor dad. He's just standing there, nervous, holding the test requisitions, and they slip from his hands. A doctor steps on them. It's this tiny, almost comedic moment, but it breaks my heart a little because it shows how out of their depth this whole family is in this environment. They're country people facing this intimidating hospital system, and they're just trying their best. The part that got me the most was Lin Xiaoyu's internal monologue about her past life. She remembers borrowing money everywhere for her mother's treatment, hitting wall after wall, and how Yang Mingyu offered to marry her with just 50,000 yuan as a betrothal gift. She had no romantic feelings for him but she agreed anyway because he was the only one who helped when she was desperate. And even after discovering he loved someone else, she never blamed him. She endured his mother's torment. All of that backstory makes this current scene so much heavier—she's been here before, she's lived through the worst of it, and now she's back in essentially the same situation despite having everything she needs materially. That's not a happy place to be. It's this lingering ache that no amount of money can fully erase.
Okay, so this whole Love Gu situation is genuinely brilliant plotting. Let me break down why it works so well. First, the inciting incident—Lian Qiao accidentally taking the Love Gu instead of the Itching Gu—feels plausible enough within the story's logic. She went to the Treasure Pavilion, grabbed what she thought was one thing, and ended up with something far more inconvenient. The fact that there were TWO Gu in the container, one crawled toward Lu Wujiu and the other burrowed into her, is a nice touch. It's not just a simple mix-up; the Gu itself seems to have agency, which adds this weird supernatural weight to the mistake. But the real plot twist that got me was the Kongtong Seal revelation. Lian Qiao is all ready to team up with Lu Wujiu to steal it, thinking it's their salvation, and then BAM—her father already knew about it being stolen three days ago and didn't even tell her. That detail is doing so much heavy lifting. It's not just a plot obstacle; it's a character beat about her father's trust (or lack thereof) in her. And Lu Wujiu knowing about it? That raises the question: how does he have that kind of access? The plot is quietly building this web of information asymmetry between characters, and I'm here for it. The subplot about the Gu being swapped is also suspicious. Lian Qiao herself suspects someone deliberately replaced the Itching Gu with the Love Gu—a person who despises her, knows about their relationship, and wanted to force them together. That's a classic setup for a future antagonist reveal. The plot is layering mysteries on top of each other: the origin of the Love Gu, who swapped it, why the Kongtong Seal was stolen, and what Lu Wujiu's folk remedy actually is. Each answer opens up two more questions. That's tight writing.
There's this one moment — just one — that I can't stop thinking about. Xie Chengze deliberately pats Shen Yuan's shoulder after his whole Long Yang's Preference performance, and the text says Shen Yuan's body "gradually stiffened." That's it. Two words. But it carries so much. In their previous life, this relationship was defined by violence. Shen Yuan killed Xie Chengze. Xie Chengze stabbed him first. There was no touching, no closeness, only the Azure Sword and blood. Now Xie Chengze is choosing to initiate physical contact — a pat on the shoulder, casual and friendly — while internally scheming to keep Shen Yuan as far away from him as possible. The dissonance is almost painful to read. And Shen Yuan? He's forced to nod and smile back while internally wanting to shove him away. He's exhausted. You can feel it in every interaction. The headache he gets isn't just from the rumors spreading through the palace — it's from the constant, grinding tension of pretending everything is normal with the man you once killed. The emotional undercurrent between them is so complicated. There's fear, yes. There's suspicion. But there's also this weird intimacy — they know each other better than anyone else in the story. Shen Yuan knows exactly which words will provoke Xie Chengze. Xie Chengze knows exactly which sword to fear. They're trapped in a dance where every step is calculated, every gesture loaded with history neither of them can escape.

Villain is good , overpowered from start , and heroines part is fine , i think villain wants to make each and every heroine pregnant . Don't stop updating
The book is one that actually has a good storyline, but I feel there is still room for improvement. The book pacing right from the first chapter is too fast and not much time has been allocated to really explain the book which can be negative. It is a good one, just make sure to adjust it so for it to be much more better.
I'll give it five stars for its great start and will write a detailed review later. However, it's an extremely captivating story and absolutely worth reading. I highly recommend it to everyone!
I am giving this book a review to inform fans on how good it is. It has the sense of character fleshing out.
