This book has a lot of pros but the cons have started to outweigh then IMO.I have read until chapter 250 so I can say objectively that the story has a lot going for it story wise but when you pad your word count on literally every single chapter with a notice not to pirate, which will happen regardless, then I lose trust in your integrity as an author. (I understand not wanting your hard work to be given away for free but I shouldn't have to pay for your insecurity.)Second, filler chapters and filler content to pad the word count... With the amount of information that is nonrepetative in the 250 chapters I read you could have gotten the message across in half that number.That said, I do enjoy the concept and ideas you have but they need to be executed more efficiently.(Yes I understand that most webnovels are padded with repetition and filler but that doesn't make it right, does it?)With some slight tweaking and focusing more on story development rather than useless banter between characters then this story could be great.
Lack of depth but it's ok. Basically MC dies and transmigrates over to infinity genre as a demon in hell. In hell, demons can be summoned by other people from other worlds (gaming/novel/movie galore), which are pretty much infinity genre's worlds. MC mostly strengthens himself there because he's located in a pretty low-ranked, desolate area of hell where his progress is quite slow.
Only twenty chapters in so not much chance for story, character and world building. The translation is all over the place sometimes.Also the update stability seems to be a lie? Has been 3 days since the last chapter was released. 13/week how?
I've always been a sucker for cultivation novels and this one, so far, has quite an interesting premise. Although the synopsis is vague and didn't give much info about the story, it was captivating enough, especially the opening sentence.Writing quality is good. There are some mistakes but it didn't disturb my reading experience. One thing I really like about the writer's way of writing is his simple words that flows so well. His way of storytelling is comfortable in the eyes and easy to understand. For the story developement, the pace is quite slow in my opinion but fortunately, the plot has started to reveal itself in the latest chapter, which is ch 8. There's a little plot twist in the last ch, which I find quite surprising and entertaining, making me have the urge to read more. I'll be looking forward for your next chapter so good luck, Author!For the world background, can't judge much as it was still in its early chapter but overall, it's quite okay. We get to be introduced a bit about the world, the realms it has, and the background of mc's family. As for the character development, the story, despite being a 3rd pov, is written in the view of the mc. His thoughts and emotions are fully exposed to the reader which I thought is a good and efficient way to make readers feel closer to the mc. And the story background of Fang Yan, which I assume will be the main villain of the book, has been introduced quite early. So for the character development, I think the author has done a fairly good job in this aspect. Well, that's the end of my review. Hope that this will help attract readers for you, Author! This is one of the few novels that I like on this website. Specially the mc of this novel who is not dumb, narcissist or hypocrite and takes rational decision when necessary is to my liking. But the inconsistent translation speed is really making me lose interest in this novel. If nothing is done about it then sadly I would have to drop this novel from my reading list.
This novel is very well written and really pleasing, refreshing to read. Here are a few among great things:tCharacters are all fleshed out, from MC to his family, buddies, and enemies. People have normal lives, and not everyone is trying to cultivate like other novels, which is great (I hate it when grandfather, dad, mom, brother, sister, cousin, spouse,… of MC all try to cultivate, so frustrated, and for what?) Also, in this novel, old people are wise, not some greedy man-child, they use their lives experience to teach younger people, not just hand out some family techniques.tWorld building is awesome, the info is sprinkled throughout the novel, not dumped on top of reader then be forgotten. MC grows up and has the chance to travel further and further from home, and his world expands with him naturally. Also, things happen for reasons, not because the author said so. tMC is very likeable, he is smart, forthright and sly. He also knows patience as well as compassion, unlike most other MC who only knows how to kill and cultivate and care for a very few individuals. Also, he is not arrogant, thanks to constant reminder from his family. MC also doesn’t have any cheat-like attribute or system, so his achievements feel earned and satisfying, rather than being expected or just a matter-of-course. He shows up and gives 110% effort when it counts but very chill normally (which makes hilarious scenes). He also gets beaten around by all sort of things, but totally cool about it. From his upbringing, he respects and cares deeply for his family, friends, through thoughts, and actions (from big to small), unlike other MC who “show” their caring by shoving techniques, cultivation materials that they don’t use onto others (for real? Is that how you want your children to behave?)tThe pace of the story is super good, a great amount of word each character (I fear for my SS when this goes premium, which is very likely and deserving). There is no rush to go to higher cultivation tier; the story invests time to fully explain what is going on, significant about the current cultivation tier, which make readers feel closer to MC in a way. And there is no forced conflict, not all fights are life-or-death.tSorry for the wall of words, this is my first review, and I really love this novel so far. I hope you enjoy it too. If you like a block-head MC, who goes around killing everyone, steal everything, encounter all sorts of random left behind fortune, compare his d…, I mean his cultivation progress with anyone he sees, but use his secret cheats to beat up weaker people, incurring surprises after surprises after surprises from everyone, this may not be for you. This is pretty good. A fairly well written system novel with actual originality, quite a rare find these days. The system isn't overpowered but still feels satisfying to read.The protagonist while somewhat generic is noticeably more chill than the average system protagonist, he isn't constantly referring to China or being a racist or misogynist which is a huge plus.The world building is quite standard, the story is decent and there's nothing to complain about when it comes to the pacing, quality of writing and translation quality, it's all pretty good.In short, it's a well executed novel with a respectable protagonist, system and concept. I'm fond of novels like this one, they aren't the most ambitious but pull off what they're trying to do well enough to be entertaining. 4.25/5
