The son of the factory director at the textile factory where Lin Shu Ting works. He is 20 years old, two years older than Lin Shu Yin, and described as handsome. In the original plot, he noticed Lin Shu Yin when she visited her sister, requested a match, and married her. Before the reform and opening up, their life was decent with occasional arguments. After 1980, he cheated on Lin Shu Yin, became abusive, and later partnered with Lin Shu Yi. He started a successful business post-reform, becoming a 'golden son-in-law' whom the Lin family relied on financially.
