The protagonist, a transmigrator from the 21st century who woke up in the body of Lin Shu Yin, the second daughter of the Lin family. She is 18 years old, in her second year of high school, and a twin sister to Lin Jian She. In the original drama plot, she was forced to marry Zhou Jian Guo to secure jobs for her siblings and promotions for her elder sister, only to be cheated on, abused, and driven to death by her husband and younger sister Lin Shu Yi. After transmigrating, she learns of this tragic fate via bullet-screen comments and resolves to avoid the marriage and the countryside. She struggles with finding a job in the difficult 1970s employment landscape, misses meat and comfortable living, and eventually discovers she has a system that gives her tasks.
