Also referred to as Zhang Guosheng or Brother Zhang. A chubby man with thinning hair who runs a small bookstore in a narrow alley. He formerly belonged to a militia propaganda troupe before it was disbanded. He commissions Li Mian to paint wall posters for his bookstore to attract customers. He is described as good-natured, shy, and appreciative.
