Also known as Lord Xu. He was Master Duan's close classmate at Bailudong Academy. They shared a dormitory and became close friends. Years later, after achieving official rank in Taicang Prefecture, he found Duan Zhishu bedridden and impoverished and brought him to his home, providing for him. He entrusted Duan with teaching his sons Xu Wang and Xu Zhan.
