Pear Blossom's grandmother, also referred to as Mrs. Xiang. Described as cunning and heartless. She drugged Pear Blossom and sold her for ten taels of silver. She has been mistreating Pear Blossom and her family for years, despite Pear Blossom's father having taken the military service quota for the Grace army nineteen years ago. She lives in the Xiang family main house with her husband Xiang Laotou. She is harsh towards Pear Blossom's family, denying them proper meals and treating them poorly compared to her other sons' families.
