The eldest son of the Xiang family. He took his father's place in the Grace army (Eternal Army) nineteen years ago after Xiang Laotou injured his leg. He seldom comes home, returning only once or twice a year. His military service quota exempts his family from certain obligations but binds their descendants to military service for generations.
