Also referred to as Old Master Gao, he is the elder of Gao Village whose daughter Gao Cuilan was imprisoned by a demon. He requested the Scripture Seekers to capture the demon. He later provided dry rations and gave each of the master and disciples a set of clothing as they continued their journey westward.
