Ruth is the youngest son of Chancellor Lyman Kaizel and a former courtesan named Leysha. He became a knight at age thirteen solely to escape the influence and abuse of the Kaizel family, particularly from his half-siblings and the countess. He has long chestnut-brown hair reaching his waist and is described as stunningly beautiful. He was recently promoted directly to 3rd Division Commander (captain), skipping vice-captain, due to his father's intervention. He shares a deep bond with his childhood friend Elsen, having joined the knightly order partly because of Elsen's influence. He has a younger sister named Leia.
