A prince and son of the founding emperor, known as a malevolent figure who had oppressed the people of Datong for years. He had outlived four reigns through political survival. After being confined under house arrest for eight years by the late emperor, he was released just one day before his death by the new emperor's pardon. He died choking on a steamed bun he had forcibly taken from Xu Shi's stall. His death was covered up by his family who falsely claimed poisoning to avoid the shame of a prince dying from choking.
