The father of Zhu Xunshuo and grandfather of Zhu Chengjun and Zhu Chengchang. He oppressed the people in Datong, prompting numerous officials to impeach him. He refused to come to the capital when summoned by the late emperor to explain himself. The late emperor revoked all of Prince Dai's guards and placed the manor under house arrest for eight years.
