Old Pu
An elderly man with completely gray hair and deep, chisel-carved lines on his face. He is stubborn and hot-tempered his whole life, having devoted himself entirely to ceramics since his youth, hardly ever mingling with neighbors. Without any grandkids to dote on, he poured all his affection into Yao Yao, a big yellow dog he found and raised himself. When Yao Yao went missing after digging a hole in the yard and slipping out, Old Pu spent the whole day searching by himself without asking for help, displaying his characteristic independence. His outburst about not being able to eat while his dog was missing left him light-headed, but after eating Worry-Free Scallion Oil Noodles, his restlessness dissipated and he found a calmness that felt almost tangible. He grew his own vegetables and cooked all his meals, remaining unaware of the restaurant on his street until his son introduced him to it. The noodles' incredible aroma and taste surprised him deeply, marking the first time all summer he had such a good appetite. After recovering, he was ready to help put up flyers to find Yao Yao, showing his underlying care despite his gruff exterior.
