Lin Yongshun is Lin Erxia's father and the youngest son of Lin Dayong. He is an ordinary farmer who is not particularly favored by the elders. He is tall but leaner than his brothers, with fairer skin and a constant smile, giving him a scholar-like appearance rather than that of a laborer. Despite working, he earns fewer work points than his brothers and sometimes skips work due to his lazy nature. He is married to Zhao Lanhua, and they have three daughters (Lin Erxia, Lin Dachun, Lin Sanqiu) and one son (Lin Yubao). Lin Yongshun is shown to be somewhat selfish, as seen during dinner when he quickly serves himself and his wife before others, and makes empty suggestions about asking for eggs. He lacks the authority and respect commanded by his brothers.
