Lin Erxia
Lin Erxia is the protagonist of the story, a fifteen-year-old girl who has transmigrated into the body of a fictional supporting character from a novel she once read. In her previous life, she was an ordinary woman who lived safely and supported herself. Upon awakening in the 1970s, she regains memories of her past life and realizes she has become the tragic female supporting character in a parallel-era novel. The original Lin Erxia had a fiery, competitive temperament and was admitted to high school but was denied attendance by her family in favor of her cousin Lin Zhuer, who had better grades. Enraged, she smashed household items and grabbed a kitchen knife before fainting, which triggered the transmigration. Lin Erxia now seeks to avoid the original character's fate of constant quarrels, repeated college entrance exam failures, and a bitter, lonely life. She is defiant, intelligent, and willing to challenge family authority, as seen when she confronts her eldest aunt Sun Xiaoyun and outsmarts her grandmother Chen by warning about a burning pot.
