Male supporting character, a tutor at the women's academy who taught Chu Linlang history. He sat the imperial exams in the same year as Situ Sheng and was supposed to share the tanhua (third-place laureate) title but lost it due to his unkempt appearance. He entered the Ministry of Works and served at the frontier between Great Jin and Jing. He fell from scaffolding last year and returned to the capital. He is the son of Yang Xun's comrade and arranged for Situ Sheng to be sent to Madam Li. He and Situ Sheng are close friends despite rumors of estrangement.
