Father of the Second Sister-in-law. He is also known as Old Master Hong. In his youth, he hunted tigers in the mountains and slaughtered pigs without hesitation. All four of his sons took after him. His only daughter was doted on at home. He personally approached the Ji family to propose the marriage alliance for his daughter without using matchmakers. He was delighted when his son-in-law got a teaching position at the town's Sishu.
