Ji An's father, who passed the exams to become a Xiucai at age twenty-five. He adores his only daughter Ji An and personally teaches her to recognize characters and hold a brush. He laments that Ji An is not a boy. He is married to Ji Mengshi and has three sons: Ji Cheng, Ji Yu, and Ji Yan.
