Male character, a sickly invalid and Su Wan's husband. He is remarkably handsome with sharply defined brows, a gaunt jawline, and fierce pitch-black eyes full of undisguised loathing towards Su Wan. He has a gloomy, ghostly aura due to his sickly pale complexion. His widowed mother is Mother Gu, and he has younger twin siblings aged seven or eight. In the original novel, he outlived Su Wan and descended into darkness after his siblings were abused to death in a brothel and his mother died from grief, becoming the novel's ultimate villain. In this chapter, he is suspicious and cold towards Su Wan, coughing frequently, and appears to want to strangle her.
