Male supporting character. Lin Jianxue's high school classmate and childhood acquaintance from the same residential compound. He was known as a troublemaker who got into fights and copied her homework. His family fell into political trouble and was sent to the countryside for reform, where his parents died from hard labor. He was beaten badly but survived and returned when they were politically rehabilitated. He later sold the family house and moved to Hong Kong where he became financially successful. Upon hearing of Lin Jianxue's illness, he pulled strings to find her sanatorium and sent his adopted son Fu Yansheng to check on her.
